Playtest it now.

This new PC game is a blend of ARC Raiders and Snowpiercer, and a playtest is going on now.

Enginefall is an upcoming RPG shooter where you board a colossal megatrain at the very back with your crew, and must scavenge and build makeshift bases as you push forward for better gear.

As you progress through the train, you’ll unlock better gear and more resources, which you can then use to grow stronger back at your Dagger shuttle, ultimately helping you climb the train classes.

However, the game is also a PvP experience, so you'll also have to contend with other crews and players who have come to the train for similar purposes. Similar to ARC Raiders.

“From cramped tail slums to lavish first-class cars and guarded engine rooms, every carriage is a living space to loot, fight over, turn into a base, or eventually claim as part of your own rolling home as you climb from tailie to conductor,” reads the blurb on Enginefall.

Enginefall Is Built Around Human Opponents And Allies

As developer Red Rover Interactive describes, the game is “built around human opponents and allies”, where you “raid trains with friends, defend your makeshift bases, and clash with other players over key routes and resources.”

As you go you’ll find various resources which you can transform into useful gear, armour, and structures. You can also use them to throw together makeshift bases, which can be used for storage, upgrading gear, or respawning should you die on the train.

In case that all sounds like your cup of tea, you can check out Enginefall via a closed beta test ahead of launch. To access the beta test, go to Enginefall’s Steam page and hit Request Access where it says “Join the Enginefall Playtest”.

Following this, Red Rover Interactive will send out invitations to playtest the game when it is ready for more players to join in, but there’s no guarantee that you’ll get in. The playtest should give you a little taste of what the full experience offers though, while also allowing the developer to squash bugs, try out ideas, and stresstest the servers in time for the full launch.

As for when the full game is due to release, Red Rover Interactive has not confirmed that yet.

Enginefall currently has a vague 2026 release window for now, and we’ll get a more specific date when the developer is ready to announce that.
