I’ll be honest, I still find it baffling that Hogwarts Legacy’s directors cut and DLC expansion were cancelled.
Hogwarts Legacy was the best-selling new release of 2023, bringing in huge bagfuls of money for Warner Bros; surely the DLC and director’s cut were easy extra money?
Especially as devs at Avalanche Software had assumedly been working on both projects for quite some time.

Luckily for fans, a sequel does remain in development.
In the meantime though, it’s only really PC players who are benefiting from anything in the way of ‘new’ content thanks to the game’s mod support update which dropped some time ago.
There are so many mods out there, with players able to install anything from new quests to multiplayer gameplay features.
The mod that I want to talk about today totally transforms Hogwarts Legacy from a third-person experience into a first-person one.

Enjoy a relaxing tour of Hogwarts Legacy’s four house common rooms below.
The aptly titled ‘First Person’ mod is the work of CurseForge user Sh4ii.
“Adds a (kinda janky) first person view to the game. Play the game through a new perspective,” they wrote.

So yes, the perspective change doesn’t work flawlessly but it’s a large undertaking for just one modder.
The end result is still very accomplished and well worth checking out.
It adds an intensity to Hogwarts Legacy, if you ask me, because I certainly don’t like the idea of seeing those spiders in the Forbidden Forest via a first-person view.
The modder adds that users can press F5 to open the settings menu before selecting ‘V’ to toggle the view mode.

In case you missed it, Hogwarts Legacy will soon be receiving a new-gen upgrade for the Nintendo Switch 2.
It’s been confirmed that current Switch owners will be able to upgrade for just £10 / $10.
It’s not a straight forward port and instead rebuilds the game using new-gen assets, so that’s something to look forward to.
