Hogwarts Legacy fans pleasantly surprised by new release

That's our summer plans sorted

It is hard to believe that it has been over two years since Hogwarts Legacy became the best-selling game of 2023 as, despite its success, additional content has been pretty scarce.

Released in early 2023 and only welcoming one more additional quest as well as a lacklustre summer update and the addition of a Photo Mode, Warner Bros. and Avalanche Software has yet to release a full DLC or expansion for Hogwarts Legacy.

Check out the launch trailer for Hogwarts Legacy below!

Additionally, despite announcing that a Hogwarts Legacy extended edition was in the works, the project was cancelled just a few months after, leaving us with the news that Hogwarts Legacy 2 was the only thing still in development.

However, with the sequel not expected to launch for many years, fans were left feeling disappointed that there was no new content to look forward to.

That being said, the announcement of the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 did bring some good news for fans of the Harry Potter-inspired RPG.

Back in April, it was revealed that Hogwarts Legacy would be arriving on the Nintendo Switch 2 and now a brand-new update spells even more good news.

According to Nintendo Official, Hogwarts Legacy is now available to to preorder on the Nintendo Switch for £49.99. Better yet, those who already own the game (digitally) on the Nintendo Switch can purchase the Switch 2 version for just £10.

“This edition of Hogwarts Legacy has been enhanced for Nintendo Switch™ 2, including Joy-Con™ 2 mouse sensor support, improved graphics, audio, load times, and controls,” the listing reads.

Although there will be no new content, it will still welcome a brand-new player base and who knows? Maybe a DLC will follow.

Following the news, fans took to r/NintendoSwitch to share their thoughts about the pre-order.

“Oh was not expecting this considering there was an official announcement that, as it was so different, it had to be repurchased.

For once WB did a solid,” user KrivUK shared.

As for User tiford88, they have a clever way of saving some money.

“So the obvious thing to do is get the Switch 1 version (which is frequently on a deep sale) and the upgrade?” They suggested.

This method would definitely save you some money if you are yet to own Hogwarts Legacy on the Nintendo Switch.
