There is no denying that being a gamer is an expensive hobby with the latest titles costing more and more each year.
However, when it comes to one best-selling RPG, one user over on r/NintendoSwitch has found a way to grab it for absolutely free.
The game in question is Hogwarts Legacy which is now available on both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2.
Retailing at £49.99, the best-selling game of 2023 is quite the investment but ToinCossross over on Reddit has found a way to play it for free.

Well, almost free.
Put simply, picking up Hogwarts Legacy at your local library will cost nothing. However, after starting up the game on your Nintendo Switch console, the handheld will register you as “owning” it.
Not only that but, as a result, you will be able to grab Hogwarts Legacy on the Nintendo Switch 2 at its price of £10 as, as far as Nintendo is concerned, you already own a copy of the game and can take advantage of the discounted upgrade.
Of course, not every Nintendo Switch user has a local library and even then, this particular game may not be available but it is definitely worth a shot if you think that you can make it work.

If not, in NA regions, you will be able to grab the Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy for $11 and then upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 version for an additional $10.
This isn’t free, of course, but it will still see you able to grab the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Hogwarts Legacy at a heavily discounted price.
This was explained by Reddit user bradical1991 who explained this method in more detail.
“Just a note, the upgrade path is different from other Switch games.

Once you purchase the game and get past the intro cutscene, you can access "additional content" in the main menu, which gives you access to download a coupon.
The coupon lets you then purchase the full Switch 2 version of the game for $10.”
So, there you have it. Two ways to grab Hogwarts Legacy on the Nintendo Switch 2 at a heavily discounted price.
Happy gaming!
