Hogwarts Legacy and Galactic Racer included in free game library you don’t need a PC to access

An extensive library of free games that you don’t need a PC or console to access has just landed in 12 additional countries, with Star Wars: Galactic Racer and Hogwarts Legacy among the titles on offer.

You may be familiar with Amazon Luna, the free gaming service included within all Amazon Prime subscriptions.

Anyone with Prime can claim and enjoy the wide array of games that call Amazon Luna home, although for many years, it was only PC copies up for grabs.

That recently changed when Amazon Luna became available inside the Prime Video TV app on FireTVs, allowing for users in the UK and USA to play its included games directly on their TV without the need for a PC or console.

Following this successful rollout, Amazon has now confirmed that Luna is joining the Prime Video FireTV app in an additional 12 countries.

Gamers in Canada, France, Italy, and Spain can now hop into a variety of indies and AAAs straight from their FireTV at no additional cost.

Austria, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, and Sweden will then be granted access on an as-yet unannounced date in November.

To be clear, Amazon Luna is already available in these regions, but you can currently only enjoy the service’s free games if you have a PC.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer recently joined the Amazon Luna free game line-up

Secret Mode

The Amazon Luna line-up is incredibly strong, with Star Wars: Galactic Racer being the most recent high profile addition.

Only the single-player campaign is on offer for free, with multiplayer locked in this free edition, but that does mean you can still meet viral icon Biddy Blas. Can I get a scrib doon?

Here at GAMINGbible. Star Wars: Galactic Racer secured a score of nine in our review.

“Star Wars Galactic Racer seriously impressed me,” we said. “While the roguelite mechanics initially threw me for a loop when I first played the game earlier this year, after several hours with the game I can safely say they’ve earned their place in the genre. I’d be down to play more racers that adopt the idea.”

“That said, I know they won’t be for everyone, especially since it feels like we can’t move for roguelikes and soulikes nowadays. In Galactic Racer’s case, though, there’s at least the option to ignore it entirely for some more traditional arcade-y fun, and it’s going to make multiplayer a blast too.”

Other major titles included on Amazon Luna that’ll soon be playable directly via FireTvs include Hogwarts Legacy, Dispatch, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Sonic x Shadow Generations, and more.

Amazon Luna refreshes its available games on a monthly basis and it rarely ever fails to deliver, with each month including a respectable mix of AAAs and hyped indies.

One perhaps overlooked aspect of Amazon Luna is GameNight, a collection of party and social games that essentially turn your phone into a controller.

Of course, there are going to be plenty of gamers out there who lack both a PC and FireTV; hopefully, Amazon Luna is rolled out to all Prime Video apps in the future.

Still, it’s nice to see that steps are being taken to make gaming as accessible as possible at a time when increased hardware costs are pricing many out of the hobby.
