Hogwarts Legacy Made Totally Free To Claim and Keep, No Strings Attached

Grab the best-selling game for free

It may be a tough time for Warner Bros. and the Harry Potter IP as a whole in recent days following the news of Netflix’s acquisition but fear not as Hogwarts Legacy is making a major return for a limited time.

Announced at The Game Awards by none other than Geoff Keighley himself, 2023’s Hogwarts Legacy will be free to download and keep on Epic Games until 18 December.

So if you are yet to play the best-selling RPG of 2023 which just so happens to be inspired by the magical world of Harry Potter, this is your perfect excuse to do so if you are a PC gamer.

Not only that but it comes with some exciting freebies…

You will now be able to download and keep Hogwarts Legacy at absolutely no cost but playing for at least two hours will reward you with an exclusive Harry Potter-inspired Back Bling for Fortnite.

After confirming your playtime, the cosmetic will appear in your Fortnite locker and will be free to keep forever.

Additionally, if you have already racked up two-hours of game time in Hogwarts Legacy on Epic Games prior to this promotion, you will also receive the Back Bling so worry not.

Since the announcement went live at this year’s The Game Awards, users have reported that Epic Games has gone down so it is definitely worth revisiting if you wish to grab your free copy.

First released back in 2023, Hogwarts Legacy went on to become the best-selling game of the year with players praising its nod to the Harry Potter franchise, art direction and performances.

Since then, Warner Bros. and developer Avalanche Software have announced that a sequel is on the horizon.

However, with Warner Bros. recently being purchased by Netflix for over $80 billion dollars, the future of the franchise and the Harry Potter IP in general remains uncertain.

Nevertheless, there is no denying that a Hogwarts Legacy sequel is highly sought after and with its developers promising to improve on the somewhat empty open-world that some players reported in the first game, we can expect Hogwarts Legacy 2 to be bigger and better.

For now, we can only hope that it goes ahead smoothly despite the acquisition and luckily, if you are yet to play Hogwarts Legacy, now is the perfect opportunity to do so whilst also saving some all-important bucks.
