You can claim Hogwarts Legacy for free right now - no subscription needed - and keep it forever, but it’s only available for a limited time, so act fast to avoid missing out.
If you subscribe to the likes of PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass (albeit select tiers), you can download or stream Hogwarts Legacy. However, it’s not yours to keep forever.
Hogwarts Legacy on PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass is only accessible with an active subscription. Plus, there’s the added caveat that the Harry Potter-inspired action RPG could be removed from either service at a moment's notice.
Despite not being the most popular PC store or launcher, behind the well-established Steam, the Epic Games Store offers a plethora of free games and DLC for users to keep. The only catch is that you need an Epic Games account and to use its launcher to play the free content.
That being said, unless there’s a rare instance when a publisher might want to remove access to that free content, it’s yours to keep forever, and the latest free game available via the Epic Games Store is the aforementioned Hogwarts Legacy.
