Halo 3 Mythic is the remaster we never knew we needed

Halo 3 just got infinitely better

Most Halo fans will agree that Halo 3 is a stunning game, and yet, they’d also agree that this remaster is superb.

Being a Halo fan isn’t exactly easy.

Not only are the glory days of the franchise seemingly behind us, but the recent attempt to reignite the passion of the fandom with the Halo series has failed.

After only two seasons it was canned, and with it more hopes died.

Even though there’s been new Halo 7 teasers that have excited OG fans, we’re still all waiting on tenterhooks to see what happens next.

The pickings are slim right now, which is why Halo 3 Mythic feels like such a feast.

This “complete sandbox overhaul” is designed to introduce more “gameplay variety” into the world of Halo 3.

NexusMods user MythicJaqui states that “You'll find new weapons and vehicles, run into new encounters and enemies, and experience a fresh take on Halo 3.”

There are a lot of changes introduced via this mod, far too many for us to bombard you with here, and so if you want to read through them yourselves, head to the Halo 3 Mythic page.

The majority of players who’ve played this mod so far are rather happy with the results.

“Just did a full playthrough and it was pretty sweet,” posted YouTuber user @srocketdude.

Someone else thanked the modder for “the new experience” they’re about to have.

For fans who want something more spine tingling, there’s a new Unreal Engine 5 game that sees Halo go full horror.

It’s stunning to behold, and by that we mean it’s terrifying.

We’d love to see Halo restored to its heyday glory, however, there’s no telling if such a feat is possible.

Huge Xbox announcements have started the ball rolling, somewhat, but there’s still a long way to go.

At least we’ll always have Halo 3 Mythic if everything else falls through.
