Xbox’s Halo series is one of the most popular and iconic franchises in the video game industry, whether it’s related to the story campaigns, multiplayer offerings and characters such as Master Chief and Cortana.

However, today’s discussion, it’s all about two popular multiplayer modes from Halo 3 and Halo: Reach on the Xbox 360 are making a triumphant return in the latest entry in the series, Halo Infinite, and it’s surely going to delight fans of the series who have been feeling starved of fun multiplayer content.

Check out the Halo 3 multiplayer trailer below!

This July, the current series developer 343 Industries launches its latest season of content with Operation Anvil which is not only bringing back two popular multiplayer modes from Halo 3 and Halo: Reach, but also Big Team Battle mode, community-created maps, as well as new cosmetics to acquire with the 20-tier Operation Pass.

As reported by Game Rant, Operation Anvil launches tomorrow 30 July and will bring VIP from Halo 3, Headhunter from Halo: Reach alongside the aforementioned Big Team Battle.

The VIP mode had three additional variants alongside the main mode, One-Sided VIP, Escort and Influential VIP. In a nutshell, each of the four VIP modes requires a team of players to protect a VIP from an opposing team each aiming to win the game.

As for Headhunter, opposing teams will compete to acquire flaming skulls scattered throughout a map and must return them to a mobile deposit zone to score points and win the game.

Whether both of these two modes, as well as Big Team Battle, is enough to keep Halo Infinite players engaged for the long term remains to be seen.

While the Halo Infinite campaign is paid content and is available at no extra cost to subscribers of Xbox Game Pass for PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, its multiplayer modes are free-to-play for all.
