Fallout: Fusion City Rising is basically one giant, free expansion

Fallout fans rejoice, you can play a brand-new original expansion free-of-charge if you're on PC.

Fallout fans rejoice, you can play a brand-new original expansion free-of-charge if you're on PC.

The wait for Fallout 5 is going to be painstakingly difficult, with the game set to enter development after The Elder Scrolls VI which itself is years away from launching.

In the meantime Fallout fans can look forward to the live-action TV show, the trailer of which you can watch below

It was recently confirmed that Bethesda-exec Todd Howard had to intervene with production of the Fallout live-action series as some of the original planned story elements will be in Fallout 5.

But instead of talking about games we can’t actually play yet let’s turn our attention to what we can, like this impressive expansion mod.

It’s called Fusion City Rising, and it’s absolutely gigantic, filled with original quests, locations and factions to keep you occupied for countless hours.

Available to download via NexusMods, the expansion tells a new tale that follows a new protagonist, who can be whoever the player wishes them to be.

It’s received plenty of positive feedback from fans of the series, who’ve praised the mod’s creator for writing an excellent story and even going as far as to write terminal entries to find whilst you’re gallivanting.

Of course like any good Fallout expansion there’ll be a variety of side activities to get involved with, as well as new factions to either ally yourself with or obliterate without a second thought.

Fusion City Rising joins a number of expansion mods like Fallout 4: South Of The Sea, and an expansion for Fallout; New Vegas titled Fallout: New California.

There’s plenty of new content for fans to enjoy while they wait for Fallout 5, though of course this is only really available for PC users, meaning Xbox and PlayStation fans will have to make do with what they’ve got for the time being.
