Fallout 4 finally lets you play as a Ghoul

It's time to kick radiations butt

With the wait for Fallout 5 expected to go on for quite a few more years, fans of the Bethesda franchise are returning to the originals and this free download will give you yet another incentive to boot up Fallout 4 once again.

Despite it having been almost 10-years since Fallout 4 was first released, players have had no choice but to keep returning to the Commonwealth as Fallout 5 is still nowhere near launch.

With the Fallout franchise receiving a resurgence in recent years thanks to the popularity of the Amazon Prime television show with the same name, it is no wonder that fans want more and luckily, the community’s creators are happy to provide.

That is most certainly the case for Itchytreasuresack over on Nexus Mods who has created the Be a Ghoul mod for Fallout 4.

The Be a Ghoul mod allows players to play as a Ghoul by using a Holotape to switch effortlessly between the infamous Fallout race and even back to human if you have had enough.

Additionally, players can take a quick pill to turn them into a Ghoul and just to keep things more lore-accurate, you will also have to deal with radiation the same as the average player.

Using the vanilla Ghoul race, this mod kicks off when you launch the game as you will have the option to retrieve a Holotape from a quest.

Once collected, you can use it to turn you into either a Ghoul or human on command.

“I have made two optional versions for you,” the user explains.

“One makes the "Ghoulish" perk turn you into a Ghoul, and the other makes you not be immune to radiation because maybe you do not want to be immune to radiation, either because it is making the game too easy and making a lot of features of the game become redundant, or maybe you want to really feel like a ghoul by getting the perks Rad Resistant or Ghoulish.”

As you may already know, becoming a Ghoul has now been made possible in Fallout 76 but this is the first time that you can try out the iconic race in Fallout 4 and better yet, it is completely free.
