Elden Ring is set to get a wild new crossover, and it’s one for fans of classic Elder Scrolls games.

Elden Ring and The Elder Scrolls seem like a match made in heaven. They’re both quite different in terms of gameplay and structure, but if you dig a little deeper there is a bit of crossover in terms of lore and world design.

That’s what makes this new crossover so interesting to me. There’s already quite a high chance that lots of Elden Ring fans will have also played an Elder Scrolls at some point.

We covered the Morrowind remake in Elden Ring earlier this year. As shared in a new video by AnotherPlus, the team of modders responsible for bringing the world of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind into Elden Ring is making good progress so far.

The mod intends to take the world of Morrowind, including its quests and NPCs, and bring them into Elden Ring’s engine, combining it with the brutal combat and deep levelling system of the FromSoftware game.

From the first update video, we already have quite a large part of the world map already done. The video shows off the locations Seyda Neen and Balmora, as well as some NPCs and quest design that has already been finished.

How far along is the Morrowind port to Elden Ring?

While the mod is still clearly early in development, it’s good to see that things like quests and world design are already coming along nicely. You can speak to characters, and even enter buildings.

However, there’s still work to be done. There are a lot of placeholder assets, and the lighting doesn’t look finalised yet.

NPCs also just stand there and don’t really do much besides waiting to be spoken to. However, this could also just be a limitation of the Elden Ring engine, since characters behave similarly there.

So, we’ll watch this project closely over the next few months and see what further updates come to it. It seems to be a very ambitious affair, and one that will probably be more interesting to see as new updates are released.

Other recent Elden Ring mods we’ve covered include The Sacred Arsenal, a mod which gives you access to Margit the Fell Omen’s weapons, and Graceborne which gives the game a little Bloodborne makeover. Then there’s Map for Goblins, which enhances the game’s map interface to be a little more useful.
