Gamers are in love with the latest The Legend of Zelda remaster from Nintendo, and, after seeing it for myself, it’s easy to see why.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is being lauded for lots of different reasons right now, but the most impressive thing about it is the upgraded versions of previous Nintendo Switch titles.
In some cases, like where Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is concerned, it’s nice to just get the version of the game we were actually promised on the previous generation of Nintendo Switch hardware.

But where the likes of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are concerned, the upgrades have only made the already beautiful games look even prettier.
Don’t take my word for it though, as everyone in a thread over on the r/switch subreddit is absolutely raving about the new remastered versions of the games.
“I didn’t think I would go back to it, because I was so so sick of it after how many hours I put into both games,” commented user zestysnacks.
“Then I checked it out and honestly cannot put it down. It’s like a magic trick the way 60fps just completely changes the experience here. It feels like a new game.”

“I've been playing it more than any other game this week,” replied user mrjasong.
“It's awesome to see how much detail they actually put into the textures that was washed out by the Switch's low resolution. Like I had a spiky ball weapon on my back and I could see so much fine detail engraved on it.”
Personally, I wasn’t entirely sold on the upgrades… until I saw them for myself.
This comparison video of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom running on both the Switch and the Switch 2 from Nintendo Life is honestly kind of mind blowing, because I had no idea just how big of an upgrade Nintendo had up their sleeves.

Is it worth paying for the upgrade, however? Well, that’s for you to decide. Personally, I still think it should have been free but, to each their own.
