If you like to customise your Nintendo Switch profile, then you’re in the right place if you want some glorious free downloads to claim right now.

The next couple of years is going to be huge for Nintendo. With the Nintendo Switch launching in 2017, it’s nearly time for its highly anticipated successor with its expected announcement to be made later this year for the Nintendo Switch 2 to launch in 2025, reportedly.

Check out the Metroid Dread trailer below!

However, before we’re graced with the expected arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2, there’s plenty of fun to be had with the current system. Not only do we have fantastic games to enjoy such as Pokémon Legends: Arceus, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Metroid Dread to enjoy, but there are also some promising games on the horizon.

Just recently, it was finally revealed that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is on the way in 2025 along with Pokémon Legends: Z-A, but not before The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom arrives on 26 September this year, which finally lets us play as Princess Zelda.

That being said, the topic of today’s discussion is all about the critically acclaimed Metroid Dread. In our review of Metroid Dread, we said it is: “a masterfully executed, explosive action game that delivers on every level, and looks and feels exactly how a Metroid game should”.

If you’re a fan of Metroid Dread and you want to show your allegiance to the game developed by MercurySteam, then you can claim these free icons to proudly display on your Nintendo Switch profile, as brought to our attention by the Twitter account, NSO Icons Alerts.

All you have to do to claim the free Metroid Dread icons is visit the Nintendo Switch Online section via the console dashboard and then visit the ‘Missions & Rewards’ section. From here, you will be able to select from a variety of new Metroid Dread icons which range from five to ten Platinum Coins (one of Nintendo’s free forms of reward currency).

It’s always worth checking the ‘Missions & Rewards’ section from time to time, as it's always adding new icons regularly. But until the next batch of free icons arrives, enjoy representing Team Samus.
