Legend Of Zelda Gamers Losing Their Minds Over Series' Switch 2 Debut

It's a must-play

The Legend of Zelda franchise is unlikely to drop a new mainline entry for several years, but I’m already itching to know what it might look like.

Nintendo has already confirmed that it won’t be a sequel to 2023’s Tears of the Kingdom which pretty much leaves us in the dark as to what we can expect.

While we theorise, there’s plenty to keep us busy on the Nintendo Switch 2.

The franchise has already made its debut on the console with enhanced Switch 2 ports of both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, with The Wind Waker now available via Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.

Oh, and let’s not forget that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is on the way, rumoured to launch before the end of this year.

It’s Tears of the Kingdom’s port though that’s currently leaving fans feeling enthused.

“Been gaming for 25 years, Zelda TOTK on the Switch 2 might just be the best video game experience I've ever had,” wrote Reddit user TheoMerca.

“I'm a 31 yo dude and have to share this feeling. Experiencing Tears of the Kingdom after beating (and loving) BOTW five years ago, not knowing anything about the gazillion things they improved between the two games, and all of this in 4K 60fps? Simply the biggest blast I've had with a video game ever. I'm in awe haha.”

Yet to dive in? Allow me to give you the lowdown.

Alongside obvious visual enhancements and frame rate improvements, Tears of the Kingdom’s Switch 2 port also introduces faster load times, Zelda Notes, item sharing, voice memories, and autobuild sharing.

It’s undoubtedly the definitive way to play this game, if you ask me.

And TheoMerca is far from being the only fan feeling wowed by the experience.

“Yeah same. I loved BOTW, but TOTK is just that and more. I think it's better in every single way. The Switch 2 improvements made me sink a whole Saturday back in it with my wife just exploring and finding more shrines,” replied whiteguy1x.

“I agree. Playing through TOTK with my five year old next to me is the best gaming of my life,” added dudeshoot_mankill.

It’s definitely worth the upgrade if you’re still in doubt.
