The Legend of Zelda fans are losing it over a brand-new Nintendo Switch 2 game that brings all the nostalgic vibes.

Without question, The Legend of Zelda series is one of the most iconic properties in the video game industry, and not just in the Nintendo universe.

The never-ending popularity of The Legend of Zelda series is why we’re being treated to a live-action movie, which hopes to share the same success as 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Albeit, the Zelda movie will be a live-action production and not animated.

Whether that movie goes on to be a success remains to be seen, but regardless, fans are hyped for where the next adventures of Link and Zelda will take us next on the Nintendo platforms.

During a recent Nintendo Direct, we got a new look at the spin-off, Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, the next game from The Legend of Zelda series.

Understandably, Hyrule adventurers are excited for the next mainline entry in the series, and while there seems to be no indication of when that time might come, this old-school Zelda-inspired game might be your cup of tea.

The game in question is The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, developed by Team Asano and published by Square Enix.

While having old-school Zelda vibes, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales also looks similar to another Square Enix-published series, Octopath Traveler.

“What did everyone think of the demo for The Adventures of Elliot?” asked Redditor TheDoctorDB. “I’ve got a heck of a backlog, but it’ll be receiving priority when it comes out.”

As expected, fellow members of the Reddit thread were keen to share their thoughts on the next RPG from Square Enix.

“I loved it. Also, more RPGs need to let you know that you’ve already talked to an NPC. The little checkboxes on the speech bubble are awesome,” replied BigPete_A6.

“I enjoyed it a lot!” exclaimed CoffeeBeanCounter.

“I'm not normally a big fan of this type of game. But I absolutely loved it. I bought Octopath Traveler to hold me over until it releases,” revealed MikkelR1.

“Gameplay is fun, feels almost like a 2D Zelda game,” explained Worth_Candle_2431.

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales does not have a release date at the time of writing, other than a tentative 2026 launch window. But its playable demo is currently available on the Nintendo eShop.

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales will also be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
