It seems we’re still no closer to Grand Theft Auto VI’s release date, as Rockstar Games is yet to share when we can expect the game to launch, and what it looks like.

Fans expected some kind of reveal during the 10th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto V, which unfortunately didn’t happen, breaking everyone’s hearts as well as bringing the harrowing realisation that we’ve all gotten much older since GTA V first came out.

As part of the celebration though, Ned Luke, the voice actor who plays the GTA V protagonist Michael De Santa, posted a TikTok video thanking fans for their support over the years and celebrating the big milestone.

After that, the voice actor pivoted to the future of the Grand Theft Auto series with a message for fans eagerly awaiting the next game.

Luke said: “We just crossed the threshold of 10 years. 10 years of GTA 5… I just want to give a big shout-out to the fans … Only what, maybe five of those years was ‘where the f*** is GTA 6?’ … Patience guys. It’ll be worth the wait. Trust me. GTA 5 was worth the wait, GTA 6 is gonna be even more worth the wait.”

Grand Theft Auto V was definitely worth the wait, but there’s no denying that the gaps between releases are widening. Grand Theft Auto IV was released in 2008, and was followed by Grand Theft Auto V in 2013.

After Grand Theft Auto VI releases, it’s believed Rockstar will turn its attention to Red Dead Redemption 3, meaning we may see an even greater wait time between releases as the games get bigger and more complex with advancing hardware.

When GTA VI is released, it’ll be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
