GTA VI will feature a new version of GTA: Online, and while Rockstar Games hasn’t shared what it’ll be like yet, fans have their ideas.

I sunk quite a lot of hours into GTA V: Online both when it first came out and years later after the mode received a good few updates.

It was good fun but there was a glaring problem, it was built around Shark Cards. These are microtransactions that deposit in-game cash into your virtual bank account, allowing you to easily purchase the weapons, vehicles and property that keep getting added with each update.

You could grind missions to build the wealth yourself but it always felt tedious, making those Shark Cards look more and more reasonable.

Grand Theft Auto fans are hoping GTA VI will have a better online mode, with one player on Reddit telling the community “GTA V Online has become no longer fun and enjoyable, it’s now just a grind simulator where the government (Rockstar) holds you down. GTA VI Online cannot be like this.”

They’re absolutely right but I wouldn’t hold your breath if you’re hoping for a paradise in GTA VI: Online.

As one player pointed out, "It's literally in-game inflation” going on to explain that “they had to increase the value of things to make money less valuable. Hopefully a full reset of the economy will remedy things.”

“I think GTA VI Online will become more like this. I mean, how else are people going to buy shark cards?” suggested another commenter.

I’m sure the online mode for GTA VI will be fun, at first. It’ll all be very new and exciting and it’ll be fun to explore the enormous map with your friends. Make no mistake though, after a few updates it’ll be the same hellscape Los Santos became…
