Cyberpunk 2077 needed one of GTA 5’s best features, according to fans

Cyberpunk 2077 needed one of GTA V's best features to truly be called a masterpiece

Cyberpunk 2077 is in a far better state than it once was, and the vast improvements made to the game have been recognised as one of the greatest comeback stories in gaming.

It was even awarded The Game Award for the Best Ongoing Game, though we’re still a bit confused as to why when there were plenty of other games with arguably better post-launch support.

Take a look at Cyberpunk 2077's current state below, it's absolutely gorgeous

Regardless it’s safe to say Cyberpunk 2077 is the sci-fi RPG CD Projekt Red always meant it to be, though that isn’t to say a few no-brainers are missing from its game design.

Out of everything that could have been added to the game, like flying cars, more cyberware, and actual consequences for dialogue options and actions, one of the biggest missed opportunities according to fans is the lack of Talk Radio.

This was noted by the Reddit user GabbaGabbaDumDum, who said despite Cyberpunk 2077 being an “amazing game,” it should have taken a page from GTA V’s book and included actual radio stations.

They added its inclusion would make the world feel more alive as they could report on the latest events happening in the city, many of which are caused by V or their enemies. They went on to say the “potential for story-telling/comic relief/world-building/shock-jocking is limitless!”

While radio stations are in the game they primarily play music, which isn’t a bad thing at all but as GabbaGabbaDumDum puts it, it can often feel “a little dead and very 'playlisty” for lack of a better word.

Fans agreed, saying the Grand Theft Auto games pioneered in-game radio stations and are yet to be matched in terms of comedy and immersion.

“GTA talk radio hosts were incredible throughout all of the games. Hilarious.”

“I loved all the GTA talk radio shows and definitely is something I missed”

“Did I miss having a talk radio station? No. Not at all. But would it be better with some in there? Absolutely.”

CD Projekt Red has confirmed a sequel for Cyberpunk 2077 is in the works, so there’s potential for features like radios to creep into that game, hopefully making the world feel even more alive.
