Payday 3 2023 release confirmed in stunning new trailer

Payday 3 2023 release confirmed in stunning new trailer

It's been confirmed that PAYDAY 3 will finally release on PC and consoles this year - 10 years after PAYDAY 2.

It’s been a hot minute since PAYDAY 3 was first announced, and an even hotter one since the last PAYDAY game was released.

To be exact, this year marks a full decade since PAYDAY 2 first launched for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, so to say that fans have been waiting a while for a follow-up would be an understatement. Thankfully though, the wait is almost over - as Metro reports, the first teaser trailer for PAYDAY 3 has now been unveiled alongside a 2023 release window.

Ready for a blast from the past? Take a look at the trailer for PAYDAY 2 below.

Now, admittedly, there’s really not a lot to see. There’s a brief shot of the Payday Gang stood against a sky of fireworks, which doesn’t give much away, but it’s still very exciting, and looks gorgeous - take a look below.

“PAYDAY 3 is the much anticipated sequel to one of the most popular co-op shooters ever. Since its release, PAYDAY players have been revelling in the thrill of a perfectly planned and executed heist. That’s what makes PAYDAY a high-octane, co-op FPS experience without equal,” the game’s synopsis on Steam reads. “Step out of retirement back into the life of crime in the shoes of the Payday Gang, the envy of their peers and the nightmare of law-enforcement wherever they go. Several years after the crew’s reign of terror over Washington DC has ended, they assemble once again to deal with the threat that roused them out of early retirement.”

As noted in the new tweet, the game is set to launch on "PC and consoles", which is painfully unspecific, but we can probably assume that it’ll be making its way to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Whether it’ll also be coming to previous-gen consoles remains to be seen, but you can wishlist it on Steam right now.
