The day is almost upon us, my PlayStation-owning friends. We don’t have long to go until the much-anticipated overhaul of PlayStation Plus finally launches. Hurray! Announced back in March, the reimagined service launches on 1 June in Japan, 13 June in the Americas, before finally reaching Europe on 22 June.
Just a few days ago, the brand-new PS Plus launched in Asia (outside of Japan), giving us a better idea of what to expect from the Essential, Extra, and Premium tiers - and we are in for a treat. Both the Extra and Premium tiers already boast an enviable catalogue of games but PlayStation have now confirmed that things are only set to get better.
There are so many classic games we'd love to see come to PS Plus. Take a look at our top 10 PlayStation 2 games below.
Sony has announced that both the Extra and Premium libraries will be updated every single month, which means new games every single month. Every. Single. Month. The libraries should update “in the middle of the month,” although we don’t have an exact date, nor do we know how many games will be added per month.

PS Plus Essential will continue to operate as the standard PS Plus system does now, so it’ll receive its monthly line-up on the first Tuesday of the month. This means we’ll have two doses of new games a month, which sounds like a very nice little deal.
We already have a pretty good idea of what titles we can expect to see on launch day. All the big hitters like God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man and Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut are included along with pure nostalgic gems like Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue, Dino Crisis, and Syphon Filter. I don’t know about you but I’m sold. Sony, sign me up.
