PlayStation gamers urged to claim free PS Plus they're owed by Sony

Make sure you haven't been forgotten

You may recall the PlayStation Network outage that took place last month.

On 7 February, PlayStation users found themselves unable to access online services including the PlayStation Store.

Of course, that included multiplayer games as well but so too were many blocked out from single-player titles as a great deal also now require an online connection.

With that in mind, it wasn’t just PlayStation Plus subscribers who were affected, but they are seemingly the only ones being compensated.

The network was down for around 24 hours but as an apology, PlayStation announced that they’d be awarding PlayStation Plus users a five-day extension to their subscriptions.

These extensions have been rolling out in batches over the several weeks, but some are yet to receive theirs.

ICYMI: Dragon Age: The Veilguard is currently available on PlayStation Plus’ essential tier.

As I said, PlayStation has begun issuing the extension but it’s worth checking to see if you’ve received yours.

To do so, head to your settings, followed by ‘Users and Accounts’, ‘Account’, ‘Payment and Subscriptions’, and ‘Subscriptions’.

Of course, checking will rely on you knowing when your subscription was originally supposed to end but if you don’t, you should be able to find this date in your emails from when you originally paid for the subscription.

If you don’t have an extra five days added on, don’t worry.

It’s believed that, as I said, the extension is being rolled out in batches.

If you’re concerned about missing out though, you can get in touch with PlayStation’s customer services team.

That’s exactly what Reddit user spaceagebachelorpad did.

“To anyone who didn’t receive their five day Plus subscription, you should contact Sony. I did today and they said I will receive a message between three to five days,” they began.

“They looked at my subscription date and said I should receive it 100%. I wonder how many more people didn't get it like me.”

It’s perhaps worth doing for peace of mind that you won’t be forgotten.
