Metro: Last Light will be free to download and keep forever with no strings attached.

Sometimes an offer can be too good to be true, however, in this instance, the offer is true. Developers 4A Games is giving away Metro: Last Light Complete Edition for free. Happy days!

Originally released in 2013 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, Metro: Last Light is the follow-up to 2010’s Metro 2033. The first game was based on the Dmitry Glukhovsky novel and told the story of a post-apocalyptic world where survivors of a nuclear war take refuge in the Moscow, Russia, Metro tunnels.

In Metro 2033, players must scavenge, fight and survive, not only against fascist regimes but new horrific mutations that now plague the world. Metro: Last Light followed on from the original story, but was its own standalone tale not based upon the Glukhovsky novel.

On Metacritic, Metro: Last Light was reviewed favourably with scores of 82 from critics and 8.5 from users. So even if you bought this game with your hard-earned cash, you’d be in for a treat, let alone picking up a freebie.

News of the free Metro: Last Light was posted on the official 4A Games social media channels detailing that the game will be available at no cost from 18 May to 25 May on PC Steam. So when this freebie goes live, make sure that you claim it before it expires.

As for the other entry in the series, both Metro 2033 and Last Light are remastered for PS4 and Xbox One. What’s more, its third entry in the franchise, Metro Exodus is available on PC and all current-gen consoles. In February 2023, an industry insider claimed that a sequel to Metro Exodus is in the works.
