Horizon Forbidden West's latest patch adds a touching tribute to Lance Reddick

Horizon Forbidden West's latest patch adds a touching tribute to Lance Reddick

Gamers have reportedly discovered a memorial for the late Lance Reddick in the Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC.

A recent update for Horizon Forbidden West has reportedly added a tribute to the late Lance Reddick, who passed away earlier this year.

Reddick sadly died in March at the age of 60. The American actor was best known for his role as Cedric Daniels in The Wire, but he was also well known within the gaming community for being Commander Zavala in the Destiny series and Sylens in Horizon Zero Dawn, Forbidden West and its Burning Shores DLC. He was also a dedicated gamer himself - he was playing Destiny 2 the day before he died, and was only one mission away from completing the Lightfall expansion. It’s believed he played Destiny and its sequel for over 2,800 hours.

While Horizon developer Guerrilla Games released a statement in tribute to Reddick when he died, it now appears that a memorial has been added into Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores in the game's latest patch, which released earlier this week. There have been multiple reports from gamers on Reddit that the memorial, which features Reddick’s name, can now be found on one of the Burning Shores' key islands.

“It's on the large island south/below the second/eastern lava outflow. Fly or swim across due south from the campfire on the beach. It's just on the ridge above the beach. Easiest to spot at night if you have any trouble because of the holographic light. A lovely tribute for Lance,” Imperial007 wrote.

“Thank you, Lance Reddick, for everything you’ve brought to the character of Sylens, for sharing your infinite talent and wisdom with us, for your generous warmth and inimitable presence, and for your profound impact not just as part of our cast, but on our community,” Guerrilla Games’ statement from March reads. “We were deeply honoured to work with you. You will be so incredibly missed.”
