If you are a PlayStation gamer, then you have probably played Horizon Zero Dawn and its sequel Horizon Forbidden West and if so, I am pretty sure there is just one question on your mind: When will Horizon 3 be released?

Well, although the third instalment in Guerrilla Games’ saga has not yet been officially released, it is widely accepted that it will be one day as Aloy’s story is far from over after the events of 2022’s Horizon Forbidden West.

Not only that but a recent rumour circulating online suggests that the Horizon trilogy could receive its final instalment as early as 2027.

This alleged leak comes courtesy of a user known as TCMF Games who took to social media to reveal that Horizon 3 was “currently in development” and is aiming for a cross-generational launch some time in 2027.

Although just a fan account, TCMF has had some hits when it comes to video game rumours, but nevertheless, it is still worth taking the following information with a hefty pinch of salt as this news has not yet been confirmed by Guerrilla or Sony.

According to the leak, Horizon 3 would feature Nemesis - a rogue AI who was first mentioned in Forbidden West - as the main antagonist.

Other than that, we still remain in the dark when it comes to the highly-anticipated sequel.

So what do we officially know about Horizon 3?

Well, Guerrilla has previously claimed that it is working on a “mainline Horizon game” but this was not specifically confirmed to be a Horizon Forbidden West sequel.

Additionally, the developers warned fans that a release is “still far off”.

Not only that but rumours courtesy of Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reveal that a multiplayer Horizon spin-off is in development and so it could be many more years until we see the single-player conclusion of Aloy’s story.

It is hard to know what to believe but fingers crossed that Horizon 3 is released some time in the near future or at least confirmed to exist by Guerrilla itself.
