Hogwarts Legacy has now been out for over a month, which means that the most dedicated players have probably been done with all the main content for some time now. That also means that many are now scouring the game for extra secrets, and to try and see what cool Easter eggs and references might be hiding under the surface.
There’s almost certainly still plenty to find - barely a week after launch, fans had managed to compile a huge list of nods to the books and films, from the Polyjuice Potion being brewed inside one of the toilets, to the Follow the Butterflies quest referencing Ron’s iconic line in The Chamber of Secrets. Given that there are so many things like this included, you can understand why players would believe that something might happen if you pay the Hogwarts Express a visit, but apparently not.
Hogwarts Legacy modding has already begun - take a look at this hilarious one that adds PS1 Hagrid to the game.
You can’t actually ride on the Hogwarts Express in Hogwarts Legacy, but stare at the train tracks for long enough and it'll eventually chug by. It's clearly just there for scenery, though - on Reddit, one player took it upon themselves to stand on the track when the train approaches to see what happens, and the short answer is: nothing.

“My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined,” TheDataPanda wrote, along with a video of the train clipping through their character. While it’d be easy to explain this by saying that ‘it’s a magic train’, the messiness of the visuals suggests that this was just a complete oversight.
“Well, that was anticlimactic AF,” mbdsk replied. “Platform 9 3/4 logic,” BrazenlyGeek wrote. “You wouldn't believe how inconvenient trains were before I invented train invulnerability!” added bluepineapple42069, referencing the repetitive Floo Flame fast travel lines.
After yet another delay, Hogwarts Legacy is now coming to PS4 and Xbox One on 5 May. Its Nintendo Switch release date of 25 July remains unaffected.
