Contrary to what you might believe, a sequel to the hit Wizarding World RPG Hogwarts Legacy is yet to be formally revealed, having only been briefly mentioned by Warner Bros. in corporate settings.
Almost three years after the game debuted, we may finally have just received confirmation and a reminder that a sequel is in fact real - courtesy of one the game’s stars, I’ll add.
Yes, actor Jason Anthony appears to have just confirmed the existence of Hogwarts Legacy 2 although, of course, the sequel may not go by that exact name.
“Will there be a Hogwarts Legacy 2?” asked one TikTok user on one of Jason’s videos, as spotted by Reddit user ZealousidealTop9195.
Advert
“Yes,” replied the actor, adding a smiley face and thumbs up emoji.
A Familiar Voice Returns In The Highly Anticipated Sequel
Jason Anthony, if you’re not familiar, voiced quite a number of characters within Hogwarts Legacy.
You’ll most notably remember him as villain Victor Rookwood, but he also voiced a further 22 characters. Yes, that many.
That line-up included the Sorting Hat, Gladwin Moon, the Fat Friar, Nearly Headless Nick, Peeves, Cuthbert Binns, Augustus Hill, Bragbor the Boastful, and Rowland Oakes amongst many others.

It’s no real surprise then that Avalanche Studios is keen for the actor to return for the sequel.
Whilst Victor Rookwood does indeed perish in Hogwarts Legacy, many of Jason’s other characters survived.
That perhaps guarantees that we’ll be revisiting Hogwarts and Hogsmeade, which may always have been a given admittedly.
It goes without saying that the fans are hyped by this small slither of an update; if the cast is involved with the sequel, it suggests development is chugging along nicely.
They’re making sure Avalanche is firmly familiar, though, with what improvements players would like to see made.
“Now let's hope Hogsmeade doesn't assault your GPU every time you run through,” wrote Polosauce23.
“I want them to skip to the seventh year and give you some really high stakes for the game,” replied NLikeFlynn1.

“I’d like a game set in the muggle world like what Fantastic Beasts did and if you use magic, people would be scared of you and you would be wanted,” jkgr replied.
When Does Hogwarts Legacy 2 Release?
At time of writing, we don't currently have a release window or confirmed date for Hogwarts Legacy 2.
In terms of gameplay and story, personally, I don’t think we’ll see any wild changes. Hogwarts Legacy has sold over 40 million copies, I’d be surprised if the sequel was anything but safe, for better or worse.
That’s not a bad thing though. Hogwarts Legacy built some solid foundations and really, just needed some refinement.
I’d love to see a companion system, more varied side content, and a less repetitive open-world. I don’t think that’s too much to ask.
I also hope the sequel doesn’t forget that the first game had multiple endings.
All we can do now is sit tight until that official reveal finally arrives. It’s so hard to say when that’ll be though with Hogwarts Legacy 2’s development status very much remaining a mystery.
