Hogwarts Legacy will be getting a “significant” graphics boost when the new version launches later this year.
The Harry Potter game is getting yet another new release on the Nintendo Switch 2, and it thankfully looks leagues better than its original Switch counterpart.
The Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy looked atrocious in comparison to the PlayStation and Xbox versions
Hogwarts Legacy 2 will boast improved resolution, lighting, framerate etc, and while it still won’t be as visually impressive as the PlayStation 5 Pro and Xbox Series X it at least looks like it’ll be playable.

While not being overly impressed as it’s still behind other consoles, fans recognise the Nintendo Switch 2 version definitely looks like an improvement.
“Playing on the switch was so much trash that I bought a used PS5 just so I didn’t waste a year of my life on loads” said one fan, referencing the agonisingly long load times the Switch version is plagued with.
Another added “I got a PS5 pro for Christmas and repurchased Hogwarts Legacy, and the difference is astounding. I love my Switch but the game is so much better on PS5. That said, that's a great upgrade in graphics.”
Others were less supportive, spouting the usual “PC is better” rhetoric we’ve heard for the past 20 years.

Again while it’s not going to be as advanced as the PlayStation, Xbox, and yes PC versions of the game it doesn’t mean the Nintendo Switch 2 version is bad.
For some this will be the only way to play the game, so it’s nice to see it’s taking full advantage of the new hardware for a better experience.
That said, I’d be very surprised if Hogwarts Legacy 2 gets a port to the Nintendo Switch 2, as I’d imagine the next game in the series will be much bigger and as a result trickier to port.
