Hogwarts Legacy developer Avalanche Software appears to have accidentally shown off a key gameplay function it probably wasn't intending to reveal just yet.
It's fair to say the upcoming Harry Potter RPG is one of the most-anticipated games of this year, with the reveal becoming the official PlayStation YouTube channel's most-viewed video game trailer to date. With the game's "Holiday 2022" release window still months away, fans have pored over every second footage they can get their hands on for new details - and now they've found something.
Take a look at some of Hogwarts Legacy's PS5-exclusive features below!
As spotted by a German Youtuber called Agito (via Reddit), the PlayStation State Of Play gameplay reveal for Hogwarts Legacy, released back in March, actually has our first look at the game's all-important HUD.

It's a real blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, which rather suggests it wasn't supposed to be seen in the trailer, but Agito has slowed the footage right down so we can give it a good look over. Just be aware that Hogwarts Legacy is still in development, and the UI could totally change between now and release.
While the HUD doesn't give too much away, it looks like you'll be able to map certain spells to certain buttons, suggesting a level of customization that allows you to approach situations with the magical arsenal you feel is best. That definitely lines up with everything Avalanche has been saying about the game so far.
Hogwarts Legacy is currently scheduled to arrive on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series consoles, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch this holiday season. That typically means anywhere from October to December, but we'll update you just as soon as we have an exact release date.
