Grand Theft Auto VI received its first review last week and it awarded the game a 73% approval score, but is that being generous?
Somehow, GTA VI has its very first player though we don’t know for sure who it is or how they got access to the game.
All we know is it’s been recorded on HowLongToBeat and is currently sitting on a rating of 73% on the same site, which isn’t bad at all.
However one could argue that it’s actually too good. 73% for a game that’s not even finished? Seems very generous if you ask me.

Now GTA VI is due for launch on 19 November later this year and we know this because Take-Two Interactive doubled-down on the launch date during its recent earnings call. The company also shared its gratitude and admiration for Rockstar’s work and confirmed that marketing for the game will kick-off during Summer, so expect a third trailer somewhere around May or June.

From what we’ve seen of the game so far it does look pretty good but what we’ve seen has mostly been panning shots of the pretty views and cutscenes, not actual gameplay.

So for a player to discreetly play and rate the game 73% just seems really odd to me?
You’d expect the game to be crawling with bugs and ransacked by glitches at this point as only the best stuff will have been captured and shown off in the trailers so far. The whole thing just seems off, if you ask me.
Perhaps it’s just this mysterious player being thankful to have played the game early.
There’s speculation that it’s the terminally-ill child Rockstar got in touch with to play the game before launch and if I was a kid given such an opportunity I’d probably rate the game highly as well.
That said if you were dumbstruck by Rockstar’s kindness and generosity would you not also rate the game a tad higher than 73%?... There’s definitely more to this.
I appreciate all of this sounds like it’s being typed by someone wearing a tin-foil hat, but I can assure you it’s not.
I only put that on when Half Life 3 is mentioned.
When marketing begins over the Summer we’ll all have a better idea of what state the game is in, so this mysterious review will either make a lot of sense or none at all.
