GTA 6 Gameplay Reveal Is Coming Sooner Than We Think

It's about time

Grand Theft Auto VI is alive and well, with official gameplay dropping in the coming months at long last.

Yesterday we were waiting with baited breath, biting our nails and dreading the Take-Two Interactive earnings call for fear of another GTA VI delay.

All is well though. GTA VI is on track for its current release date of 19 November and Take-Two even confirmed that the game’s marketing will be kicking off during Summer, which means gameplay is coming.

Technically we’ve already seen gameplay but not in the traditional sense. The game’s two trailers have featured in-game graphics and there are a few shots of Jason driving a motorcycle that are very clearly meant to be gameplay but from a different camera perspective.

However we’re yet to see gameplay from the perspective of the player which is obviously more important.

We’re not worried though as Grand Theft Auto is Grand Theft Auto, it’s looked and played the same way since Grand Theft Auto III in 2001.

What To Expect From The Gameplay Reveal

While we’re not expecting a drastic departure from the series’ norm we do have some pretty high expectations from our first look at actual gameplay.

The open-world is a big one, quite literally, as the in-game map is supposedly massive and we’ll get to see just how grandiose it is through the eyes of Jason and Lucia.

Those panning, wide shots of Vice City from the trailers were gorgeous but you only get a true sense of scale when your boots are on the ground.

It’s not just the scale of the open-world either, it's what will actually be in it. I always think back to the trailer for Grand Theft Auto V for this as it didn’t just show off how pretty Los Santos was but also the golf course, parachuting, hiking and other in-game activities you’d be able to get up to.

Hopefully GTA VI’s gameplay reveal does something similar as several minigames have been leaked ahead of time and it’d be nice to get confirmation on those before the game’s release.

Speaking of leaks, some new gameplay mechanics were also speculated to make their debut in GTA VI, such as the ability to lie prone on the floor which I’d imagine would make stealth and shooting easier.

There’s a lot to look forward to and with the game’s marketing kicking off for Summer we won’t have long to wait before we can finally see what Rockstar Games has been cooking.
