Grand Theft Auto VI is alive and well, with official gameplay dropping in the coming months at long last.
Yesterday we were waiting with baited breath, biting our nails and dreading the Take-Two Interactive earnings call for fear of another GTA VI delay.
All is well though. GTA VI is on track for its current release date of 19 November and Take-Two even confirmed that the gameās marketing will be kicking off during Summer, which means gameplay is coming.
Technically weāve already seen gameplay but not in the traditional sense. The gameās two trailers have featured in-game graphics and there are a few shots of Jason driving a motorcycle that are very clearly meant to be gameplay but from a different camera perspective.

However weāre yet to see gameplay from the perspective of the player which is obviously more important.
Weāre not worried though as Grand Theft Auto is Grand Theft Auto, itās looked and played the same way since Grand Theft Auto III in 2001.
What To Expect From The Gameplay Reveal
While weāre not expecting a drastic departure from the seriesā norm we do have some pretty high expectations from our first look at actual gameplay.

The open-world is a big one, quite literally, as the in-game map is supposedly massive and weāll get to see just how grandiose it is through the eyes of Jason and Lucia.
Those panning, wide shots of Vice City from the trailers were gorgeous but you only get a true sense of scale when your boots are on the ground.
Itās not just the scale of the open-world either, it's what will actually be in it. I always think back to the trailer for Grand Theft Auto V for this as it didnāt just show off how pretty Los Santos was but also the golf course, parachuting, hiking and other in-game activities youād be able to get up to.
Hopefully GTA VIās gameplay reveal does something similar as several minigames have been leaked ahead of time and itād be nice to get confirmation on those before the gameās release.
Speaking of leaks, some new gameplay mechanics were also speculated to make their debut in GTA VI, such as the ability to lie prone on the floor which Iād imagine would make stealth and shooting easier.
Thereās a lot to look forward to and with the gameās marketing kicking off for Summer we wonāt have long to wait before we can finally see what Rockstar Games has been cooking.
