The release of Grand Theft Auto VI can’t come soon enough, with gamers counting down the days until November 19.
Coming sooner though is an ‘Extended Preview’ being shown through Netflix, which is believed to be around 20-minutes of raw gameplay.
Even with the end in sight, however, the GTA VI leaks just keep on coming, with HipHopGamer claiming to have insider knowledge on what to expect from Rockstar’s next open-world.
The YouTuber and TV host recently spoke on the Brands in Play podcast and teased some major upgrades to GTA VI compared to GTA V.

Obviously, take what’s said with a pinch of salt as their track-record on previous leaks isn’t perfect, but they have been right about other leaks for games published by Take-Two Interactive such as WWE 2K.
HipHopGamer claimed that "the gameplay in Grand Theft Auto VI is completely different from every other Grand Theft Auto” due to the “AI technology that surrounds the game”.
It’s said to be more immersive than even Red Dead Redemption 2, with Rockstar introducing features and mechanics that have “never been seen” in an open-world game before.
As exciting as this sounds, it’s not very far-fetched. Rockstar Games has always pushed the boundaries of open-world games and ex-developers have explained in detail just how ahead of the curve the studio really is.

GTA 6 will go beyond video games with TV/Film implications
However, what stands out the most from HipHopGamer’s claims is that GTA VI apparently “wasn’t just made for gamers”. He said there’s a film and TV component that hasn’t been made known yet. "Imagine launching a movie campaign inside of Grand Theft Auto VI."
Sounds quite outlandish, but when you remember the biggest look at gameplay is scheduled for a Netflix broadcast, it becomes a little more realistic.
We have no idea what kind of applications GTA VI could have for film and TV, but perhaps some sort of live-service collaboration format akin to what games like Fortnite do could be on the cards. Maybe when the next big film comes out, GTA Online players will be able to tune into a preview at the movie theatre, who knows?
The other standout claim was the game’s controls have been designed to appeal to Esports players…for some reason.
Finally, in regards to Rockstar and Sony’s claim that GTA VI “plays best on PlayStation 5”, HipHopGamer said the DualSense support will be comparable to that of Astro Bot. That actually sounds like the most realistic claim from the whole podcast, as Rockstar Games will surely want to push immersion as much as possible, and being able to feel rain through your PS5 controller is an easy way to do that.
Again, take everything mentioned above with a pinch of salt as while it sounds exciting on paper, the details weren’t all there. It does match-up with other leaks that have materialised in the past, but we’ll have no way of knowing for sure until the Netflix preview, or the game’s launch.
The GTA VI Netflix preview goes live on August 27 for all subscribers, so if you don’t have an active membership yet, it’s probably time to get one. It will debut on Rockstar Games' YouTube channel six hours after its Netflix broadcast though.
