Ever since seeing one of the two protagonists, Lucia, behind bars in the GTA VI trailer, fans have been speculating as to whether the game will feature a portion of the story in the slammer.

Now, fans have taken to Reddit to think on this further with one user sparking the discussion by suggesting that GTA VI should include a prison system used within the Online component of the game.

The GTA VI trailer certainly hasn't stopped fans guessing.

They suggest that users can be sent to jail along with other players and have to either “escape or pay off hefty fines”. This is a great idea that could add another layer to the online play seen previously in GTA V.

One reply says, “I think a prison system similar to Star Citizen would be cool. The ability to escape prison and do a mission to remove your bounty by hacking into the police system or something.” However, some users think that the system could become boring after being thrown in the clink several times. If it were to work, players would have to face these situations rarely and be given a range of different challenges to get out of jail.

While there is some pushback against the idea, there are plenty of others who believe this could work should Rockstar Games go in that direction, saying, “You know I actually think this is an awesome idea it would be fun.” The concern being shown by fans, which isn’t just confined to this suggestion, is that GTA VI could end up being more like a simulation than the arcade action title we’re all used to.

However, pretty much all are in agreement that seeing Lucia in prison, perhaps at the start of the game, would be a great inclusion. Seeing her last day behind bars before being let out into Vice City would kickstart her journey brilliantly.
