Few will deny that Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto series is one of the biggest properties in the video game industry, if not the entertainment industry as a whole.

Even before we were treated to the first official gameplay trailer for GTA VI, the hype was fever pitch with a seemingly endless stream of rumours and leaks. In fact, we’re still seeing leaks to this day despite the official reveal from Rockstar Games in December 2023. This week, footage of a strip club in GTA VI was making the rounds across social media.

We don't know exactly when Grand Theft Auto VI will be released other than it will arrive sometime in 2025. However, that vague release window has narrowed down. That’s at least according to a known leaker of GTA VI information. The leaker in question is Reddit user JarlOfRivia, and in a tweet shared by that1detectiv3, it's claimed that GTA VI will be released sometime during Q1 of 2025. If true, it means that GTA VI would be released anytime between January and March of that year.

It’s said that JarlOfRivia is the same person who previously leaked the first GTA VI trailer. In the tweet, JarlOfRivia also mentions a report from reputable video game journalist, Jason Schreier.

The report in question from Schreier relates to Rockstar Games summoning all employees for the return of a five-day working week beginning in April. Presumably, so that all hands are on deck for the “final stretch” of GTA VI's development. It’s also claimed that the employees are not thrilled by the decision made by Rockstar Games.

Of course, we should take all unconfirmed rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. That being said, I am a firm believer in there being no smoke without fire. If these reports are true that GTA VI could be released early next year, it could also mean that we’ll be treated to more gameplay in the coming months.

Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. At the time of writing, a PC release hasn't been announced.
