Grand Theft Auto fans are running out of things to do in the lead-up to launch.
In recent days, they’ve taken to monitoring the oxygen and acoustic levels of Rockstar Games’ studio in Edinburgh, Scotland, hoping to unearth some kind of intel.
In fact, I even saw that someone has been counting the cigarette butts abandoned outside the studio’s front door, attributing an increased count to higher stress levels.
The hope is that fans will be able to figure out when trailer three might be arriving or when pre-orders might be opening.

It’s all rather pointless, really, because Take-Two Interactive’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, has already made it very clear that marketing won’t kick off until summer.
Meteorological summer is already underway, with astronomical summer set to begin on 21 June.
We don’t know which version of summer Zelnick is referring to but either way, we’re very much on the precipice of GTA VI’s marketing getting underway.
All fans need to do is remain patient for a few weeks longer.
Instead, they’ve taken to discussing the game’s map as wannabe players are split over how it should be introduced in the highly anticipated title.
Some gamers want the entirety of GTA VI’s map to be explorable from the very start of the game, whereas others are hoping access expands as the story gets underway.
“It should be open at the start but have it be like GTA V and RDR2, where you don’t even feel the need to roam further than the chapter you're in and the area, like the story will bring you to those places if you let it,” Reddit user Daryl_Dixon1899 said.
“It better be open. I'll take a prologue, but after that it should be completely open,” added Fun-List5198.
“The map should be updated as the story progresses. I like to savour all of the parts one by one and not spoil it,” commented kaspers126.

User Series-Every added, “I really like unlocking new parts. Personally, I think it’ll just be too much to have the entire map exploitable at once, but that’s just me.”
I’m with that latter point. I almost don’t want to have the power to discover everything at once.
Admittedly, I think that may be what Rockstar Games goes with. Ever since GTA VI was first revealed, there’s been a convincing theory surrounding Lucia.
In the game’s original key art, she’s featured with an ankle monitor on and we know from the game’s trailer that she begins GTA VI in prison before she’s released.
The theory is that in the early stages of GTA VI, Lucia’s ankle monitor will dictate where we can or can’t go.
I suppose if Lucia is caught ‘out of bounds’ in those early stages, she’ll be picked up by the police.
If that is indeed what Rockstar Games has gone with, it’s a clever way of dealing with the map problem in-universe.
Of course, as soon as GTA VI drops an update on pre-orders or trailer three, we’ll bring that to you.
