Grand Theft Auto fans have, quite simply, lost the plot.
In May, Rockstar Games’ parent company Take-Two Interactive held its latest earnings call which many gamers thought might be accompanied by news of GTA VI’s pre-orders or the arrival of its third trailer.
That wasn’t the case with Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick urging gamers to remain patient, adding that marketing would begin for GTA VI in summer.
In the meteorological calendar, summer is underway now that it’s June. In the astronomical calendar, summer begins after the solstice on 21 June.

Either way, we’re once again reaching the danger zone by which I mean a time when it’s plausible that GTA VI information might drop.
In fact, fans are convinced that trailer three is set to land very, very soon and that’s according to freshly obtained evidence regarding the oxygen levels at Rockstar Games’ Edinburgh studio.
Yes, you heard me correctly. Fans have been monitoring the oxygen and acoustic levels of Rockstar’s main base of operations in an attempt to spot unusual patterns.
I’ve, quite frankly, never seen anything like this ahead of a game release. It’s yet more proof that GTA VI’s monumental launch is unlike anything we’ve seen before.
Reddit user Then-Pomegranate-625 is a key individual behind the effort. You’ll likely have seen his posts about the office’s sound and oxygen levels in recent days.
In the user’s latest update, they noted a drastic change in oxygen concentration levels.
On both 4 June and 5 June, oxygen levels dropped at 5pm which isn’t something that’s been happening on all monitored days.
The theory of the poster is that people gathered to watch trailer three, finalising it before release; the more people you have breathing in a room, the more it’s going to be full of carbon dioxide rather than oxygen, they say.
Is this a wildly silly theory? Yes, perhaps, but it’s one Grand Theft Auto fans are rolling with.
It could just be developers having a meeting or even gathering to celebrate someone’s birthday in the office. We just don’t know.
The good news is that it doesn’t really matter because Zelnick promised that marketing would kick off in the summer and that time period is practically here.
Trailer three and pre-orders will be ours before we know it. GTA VI’s launch is only just over five months away, so Rockstar Games and Take-Two aren’t going to want to leave pre-orders too late.
In the meantime, GTA VI hopefuls are having a jolly ol’ time roasting the latest theory.
“This is the most unhinged thing I’ve ever seen,” replied Thread-Astaire.
“A truck could have idled for a few minutes and dipped the oxygen - means nothing,” hew34_ added.
“Imagine if this is true and he drops a correct prediction with all the data,” said _FrostyVoid_, while bbbbbbbbbw added, “The only thing this concludes is OP is a f**king nut case.”
It’s okay everyone, the final countdown is underway. Just hang in there.
