GTA 6 map is being compared to Fortnite, and not everyone is happy

One fan has created a mock-up GTA 6 map based on a potential poster tease, but many say it looks lifted out of Fortnite.

Grand Theft Auto VI fans are debating whether we have or have not yet seen the game’s map.

Allow me to explain. It’s no secret that GTA VI’s first trailer has taken the internet by storm. It’s broken records and fans are blown away by what they’ve seen so far. It didn’t take long for us all to start scrutinising every frame. It was whilst doing this that one person spotted what they thought might be the outline of the game’s map on the bumper of a car in one shot of the trailer. Fast forward a couple of days and another fan spotted an image hanging on the wall in the background of the game’s official poster. Some have said it’s nothing more than a bunch of jumbled shapes, while others are convinced this is the game’s map. Well, one fan has created a map based on those jumbled shapes - and opinion continues to be split.

Take a look at the GTA VI trailer below.

Reddit user nikson_sharma created the map based on the possible poster tease but the overwhelming response has been that it’s far too island-centric with some comparing it to a Fortnite map. “That s**t look like the battle pass,” wrote friendlyrope1628 while foodank012018 said, “I really hope it’s not so island focused. Yes, have some islands and please have a version of the Keys, but not all these bridges.”

“I would be kinda disappointed if the map was this bridge heavy,” commented WentzToWawa. User klashnikovM added, “What in the world is that? Fortnite map?” It does have a bit of a Fortnite vibe to it.

Remember though that we actually have no idea what the game’s map looks like. This is all speculation based on a tiny blurry image spotted in the background of the game’s poster. I’m imagining it’ll be quite a few months before Rockstar lifts the lid on the game again, so speculation might be all we have for some time.
