GTA 6 leak confirms return of fan-favourite San Andreas feature

Grand Theft Auto 6 could include San Andreas-style gyms according to a leak.

With each passing day, we inch closer to the long-awaited release of Grand Theft Auto VI. The problem is, given that we only have a launch window of 2025, we don’t exactly know how much closer.

Already though, Grand Theft Auto fans are planning their launch ‘sick days’ ahead of time. I admire the dedication - and it’s not the only act of it. One fan has used satellite maps to piece together what GTA VI’s map could potentially look like, while another tracked down the trailer’s strip club in real life, all in the name of research. It’s likely going to be a while until Rockstar further lifts the lid on the game. That being said, we have discovered GTA VI’s first celebrity cameo. From a leak, it also now looks as if one popular San Andreas feature might be returning.

ICYMI: Take a look at GTA VI’s trailer below.

If you recall, Rockstar Games fell victim to a major cyber attack in September of 2022 during which over an hour’s worth of development footage was leaked online alongside source code and various screenshots. According to Reddit user Spiritual-Papaya9274, GTA VI will seemingly once again feature gyms. The evidence? A supposedly leaked sketch showing a fella with ‘regular’ arms next to a version with a more beefed up, muscular physique.

As with all leaks, I encourage you to take this with a generous pinch of salt. This image, if real, could be two possible iterations of the same character / NPC model created during the design process. It’s by no means concrete evidence that gyms are returning, but it would undeniably be great to see this feature back.

“I really hope working out will be somewhat fun, not like doing yoga in GTA V,” wrote Bricknchicken, while bigpoppanicky7 added, “Honestly hope so. So many things in San Andreas that I miss.” We’ll just have to wait and see what the final release has in store.
