Real-life nudist resort forced to speak out after appearing in GTA VI leak

The next Grand Theft Auto really sounds like it'll be bare-all, as GTA VI looks like it's adding some risque locations to Vice City. Anyone who's ever played a GTA game will know developer Rockstar Games isn't afraid of getting down to business, and while the idea of kicking prostitutes to the curb hasn't exactly aged particularly well in 2026, many are expecting a modernised take on how more mature material is handled.

Although GTA V only featured the Vanilla Unicorn as a fully accessible strip club, the various trailers and leaks have teased that we'll be able to indulge all sorts of carnal desires when we head back to Vice City on November 19. That's unfortunately come as a bit of a problem for one real-life nudist resort after it's accidentally become intertwined with GTA VI thanks to the recent Cyberleek leaks.

In something of a bizarre Streisand effect, Cypress Cove Nudist Resort has become embroiled in the GTA VI leak drama. A deluge of leaks has shown off nude NPCs (including full-frontal nudity) and some pretty raunchy voice lines.

Leakers are fast, but fans are faster, and it continues to be some gamers' obsession to track down the real-life inspirations for characters and locales in GTA VI. Attention has turned to the Cypress Cove Nudist Resort in Kissimmee, Florida.

Cypress Cove has been hit by a slew of fake reviews, with one simply saying, "Jason Duval?" This has clearly rattled the owners, who took the time to respond.

Referring to the review as spam/extortion, Cypress Cove wrote: "For anyone wondering about the suddenly recurring references to 'Jason Duval', 'Lucia', binoculars, a pool, firearms, and other suspiciously similar details — those are references to Grand Theft Auto VI. 🎮 Yes. A video game."

Vexed by this unwanted exposure, the owners' response continued to brand this as a blackmail tactic, even claiming that someone is offering to remove these faux reviews for money.

Cypress Cove added: "For our actual guests and anyone researching Cypress Cove: please understand that these posts do not describe genuine guest experiences at our resort. And to whoever is behind them: 🎮

“We appreciate the commitment to the GTA storyline, but Cypress Cove is located in Florida — not Leonida. ✨ Unfortunately, our marketing budget also does not contain a line item for 'internet ransom.' ✨."

It seems there are plenty of genuine reviews from actual Cypress Cove customers, but it's getting increasingly hard to distinguish what's the real deal and who's been brought to the page by the GTA VI leak.

Supporters rally behind Cypress Cove following GTA VI blackmail

It's not just Rockstar Games being blackmailed with the threat of more GTA VI leaks, and even though you might think all this extra attention is good for Cypress Cove, many on Reddit felt for the owners.

Replying to a post about the fake reviews, one person wrote: "Even though they are 5-star reviews, they are still fake, and I'm not sure that’s gonna help his business in the long term."

Another said: "People suck. I remember when RDR2 was released, a bunch of idiots went and review-bombed anything named "O'Driscoll" (which is a common Irish surname), saying a bunch of dumb references.

A third chimed in, saying: "I don't understand why some people find harassing actual business/people funny or anything of the sort, like, why...?"

Others were less sympathetic, as someone chuckled: "A nudist resort DENYING exposure??"

The real issue comes from the leaked footage showing Jason going on a shooting spree at GTA VI's nudist resort, which can become a serious problem if people associate Cypress Cove with this. It's especially alarming as several of the phoney reviews mention the Jason incident as if it were fact.

Sadly, this is nothing new for GTA, as we're reminded that Canouan in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has seen similar unwanted attention after internet sleuths deduced it was the inspiration for GTA V's Cayo Perico. In particular, Canouan's airport is bombarded by some pretty unusual reviews.

It really does seem that some people have nothing better to do with their time.
