God Of War Ragnarök missing popular feature at launch

Santa Monica Studio have confirmed that God Of War Ragnarök won't have a photo mode at release.

The God Of War Ragnarök hype is well and truly building. Last week saw the first round of previews drop. GAMINGbible’s very own Ewan put out this thoughts on the first five hours of Ragnarök, writing, “This is shaping up to be everything we could have possibly wanted from a sequel to God of War - and so much more. Bigger, bolder, and better.”

In recent days, developers have teased that God Of War Ragnarök will feature a wider variety of enemies so you won’t just be fighting endless Draugr - although I’m hoping Kratos’ troll finishers are still in there. If you’re into shiny graphics, it’s also been revealed that Ragnarök can hit 120fps on PS5 which is pretty impressive. There is one major feature that won’t be included in the game at launch though.

Check out the latest trailer for God Of War Ragnarök below.

When previews were released last week, there was a distinct lack of mention of a photo mode. Well, that’s because there isn’t one but the good news is one is on the way. The bad news? We don’t know when. In a tweet, Santa Monica Studio announced that “Photo Mode will be coming to God Of War Ragnarök after launch.”

They continued, “We’ll share more details closer to when we plan to release it. We can’t wait to see all of your captures once it’s live.” The delay is certainly a shame. When I played through other new-gen releases this year like Horizon Forbidden West and The Last of Us Part I, I spent a good chunk of time admiring the vistas of those games in photo mode.

If God Of War Ragnarök is to receive a photo mode after launch, chances are, you’ll have to do a lot of backtracking to capture all the game has to offer. Then again, I’m up for any excuse to explore the Nine Realms for as long as possible.
