Cyberpunk 2077’s troubled launch was partially saved by the gorgeous views of Night City, though it arguably never looked better than this.
Support for Cyberpunk 2077 has officially ended but the hope of another expansion remains. The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is getting a new one next year, and that game’s been out for over a decade.
In the meantime, the IP is being kept alive through some exciting crossover events and one of the latest brings a new, gorgeous look at Night City.
The free-to-play open-world action RPG Wuthering Waves is the latest game to cross paths with Cyberpunk 2077.
A new collaboration introduces characters from the Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime as playable heroes, including fan-favourites like Lucy. The infamous villain Adam Smasher also joins the game as a boss battle.

This all takes place in a new, permanent Night City-inspired map that’s blowing gamers away with its visuals. Seriously, it actually looks better than Cyberpunk 2077 in some areas.
Fans united on an X post by wuwa_FR, which showed off some of the new in-game screenshots with comparisons to the Night City locations they’re based on.
“I'm dead, why does [Wuthering Waves] look better than Cyberpunk 2077 LOL”, read one of the comments.
Another “Why does Night City look better in Wuthering Waves than in the actual game?”
Finally, one more said, “I lowkey hope Cyberpunk 2 looks like Wuwa's take on the world and characters instead of the photoreal style the first one had.”

The visuals really are impressive, and a credit to the Wuthering Waves team for faithfully adapting the RPG we all know and love.
You’ll be able to play in these new Cyberpunk 2077 areas on 8 June when the update drops, and remember, Wuthering Waves is free-to-play.
Aside from the new Wuthering Waves collaboration, there’s more to come for Cyberpunk 2077 fans.
While The Witcher IV is CD Projekt RED's next game, the studio has already confirmed it’s working on Cyberpunk 2, though don’t expect that for at least a decade…
Something coming a little bit sooner though, is a second season for Cyberpunk Edgerunners, a first look of which will drop in July via AnimeExpo.
It won’t be a direct sequel to the first season; it’ll be a new standalone adventure told within Night City.
Hopefully, it’s the smash hit the first season was, and leads to more collaborations like the above Wuthering Waves update.
