The trailer for the second season of the Prime Video Fallout series has finally dropped and it has given us a much better look at what fans can expect when it releases in December.
If you don't know already, the show is heading to new Vegas for the first time as the setting of the iconic game of the same name finally makes its silver screen debut.
As part of that, many of the iconic factions who featured in Obsidian's RPG are set to make an appearance for the first time including Caesar's Legion and the Kings (who bizarelly appear to be ghouls in this version of events.)
The story will continue to follow Ella Purnell's protagonist Lucy Maclean, as she seeks to bring her father to justice for the crimes he committed as part of his ever-nefarious work with Vault-Tec.

While a lot of the features of the trailer would have been familiar to longtime fans of the games, there were some characters that made an appearance who are a bit of a mystery, including one in particular that fans are keen to find out the origins of.

Fallout Trailer Features New Kumail Nanjiani Character
Beloved actor Kumail Nanjiani made his first appearance in the show as part of the trailer, showing up as a leader figure in the Brotherhood of Steel base, as the faction mobilises for war.

Over on Reddit, fans of the show tried to work out who he could be, with theories ranging from quite significant characters from the games, to some really out there ideas.
Elder Maxson came to many minds instantly, but there's quite a lot of debate about whether it could be him.
"I don’t think it’s Maxson, no face scar, probably a new character, judging by the fact he has the same type of coat as Maxson, he might be the new Elder, or at least a 'high ranking officer'," one said.
"I feel like he is a Paladin, from the previous trailer, I think he will become really close to Maximus and then die in the ending of this season," another added.

"Probably not Maxson. I’m unsure of the timeline, but it could be a predecessor or later leader of the east coast brotherhood. Could explain the similar costume. It would be interesting, since they seem to be canonizing a New Vegas ending, if they go ahead and canonise a Fallout 4 ending as well," a third said.
That last comment is referring to the prominence of Mr House in the trailer, with many believing that his victory during the events of the New Vegas game is now seen as canon.
With so much up in the air, it really is an exciting time to be a Fallout fan.
At least we don't have too long to wait to find out what's going on.
