Fallout: New Vegas fans will be able to enjoy a nice sizable expansion next month, with the release of the new Long 15 expansion.

One of the biggest reasons to revisit Fallout: New Vegas is to play some of those rather excellent fan-made campaigns and expansions.

Although they’re made by fans, some of these mods eclipse officially-made DLCs made by Obsidian or Bethesda, and can really expand the world of New Vegas.

What is Fallout: Long 15?

Developed by modder Toxic Whiteout, Fallout: Long 15 expands the game’s playable locations by allowing you to venture into California via Interstate 15.

Long 15 is a location seen in the vanilla release of Fallout: New Vegas, but is inaccessible unless you perform a specific action in the Lonesome Road DLC. Even after you gain access to it, there isn’t actually a lot to do here besides collect loot.

However, Toxic Whiteout’s mod intends to overhaul the area, expanding it with new locations, quests, and NPCs. And it’s coming out next month, on 12th December.

Check out the trailer for the mod below, showcasing some of the new locations, animations, and other bits of new content.

All-in-all, it looks like a great one to look out for if you’re a Fallout: New Vegas player who wants to try out a new lore-friendly expansion.

Although it’s unknown what the exact size of the mod is going to be, Toxic Whiteout has called it “DLC-sized”, so it ought to take up at least a few hours of your time.

“New Vegas and its mods are the only reason I want a PC,” wrote one fan on the Fallout: New Vegas Reddit page.

“Who needs a f***ing NV remastered, the community has been making it for years,” reads another comment on the same post. “Look at those smooooth Hitman anims. Can't wait to play this. Let's gooo!”

“Very excited for this, I enjoyed Dry Wells and if this is as advertised it’ll be one of the best mods for NV ever,” reads another comment. “I see why the Devs of the actual games and the writers of the show struggle with civilized areas in Fallout and the storytelling potential therein, but I’m glad modders are taking a swing at it!”

Fallout: Long 15 launches for Fallout: New Vegas on 12th December, 2025. It will be available as a free mod for all PC copies of the game.
