Fallout is becoming the gift that keeps on giving.

We’ve used that phrase a lot here at GAMINGbible, especially when referring to Skyrim. How could we not? There’s always something new to find despite its age.

As annoying as it may be to see the same words used, we rely on them to convey our feelings for a reason: they’re just so accurate.

Bethesda’s Fallout series is now the franchise that seems to be overly generous with the continued content it keeps putting out for its players.

This latest change is different though, not least of all because it’s finally delivering the RPG experience we’ve craved since we first started playing Fallout.

We’re going to be able to play as a ghoul.

Have you played Fallout 76: Milepost Zero?

This isn’t new information; we’ve known that the option was going to become available in the future.

However, since the Fallout Day Broadcast, we now have more details about this intriguing Fallout 76 update.

The event gave us our first proper look at what it means to become a ghoul in the Wasteland.

We also got the official reveal for The Gleaming Depths, which has also felt like a long time coming.

Not just anyone can become a ghoul though. There are certain milestones you have to hit in order to undergo the transformation.

Players will need to be at least level 50 or above, as well as complete the ‘Ghoulification’ missions.

What’s most thrilling about this is how radiation will impact your playthrough.

Typically, we try to avoid those nasty rads, but as a ghoul you’ll embrace them.

“You’ll no longer have to worry about catching a bad case of the rads because you’ll be immune to radiation damage. In fact, you’ll crave it,” explained Fallout 76’s Bill LaCoste.

“As a ghoul, exposure to rads will heal you and possibly unlock unique abilities,” they added.

Radiation may no longer be an issue, however, turning feral will be.

Lots of new experiences are going to be unlocked once this option becomes available. Honestly, we can’t wait.

We probably won’t look as cool, and dare we say sexy, as Walton Goggins as The Ghoul, but at least we’ll know what the ghoul life is like.
