Nintendo has released a bunch of new Super Mario free downloads for Switch and Switch 2 users.

2025 marked the Super Mario franchise’s 40th anniversary, with Nintendo making lots of surprise announcements which it has continued to keep up this year.

Beginning this week with the release of Mario Tennis Fever, the latest in a long line of Mario-themed sports games, Nintendo has released a bunch of new freebies to celebrate the launch.

New Mario Tennis Fever Themed Icons For Nintendo Switch Online Are Now Available

As spotted by NSO Icon Alerts, you can now download a bunch of new Mario Tennis Fever-themed icons for your Nintendo Switch Online avatar.

This includes icons, frames, and backgrounds that each use assets from the game, including different tennis courts and several characters like Mario, Luigi, and Peach. No sign of my boy Baby Waluigi though, which I'm a little sad about.

These icons will be rotating on a weekly basis, beginning with this week and running through to 11 March. So, be sure to check back in next week for a fresh batch of icons available to download for your account.

To claim these items for your own account, be sure to head to the Nintendo Switch Online app on your Nintendo Switch or Switch 2, which is found on the home screen.

Once you’ve gone onto the app, find Missions & Rewards and you’ll see all the items available to redeem during this promotion.

Each of these items can be claimed for a certain number of Platinum Points, which can be earned by performing various activities on Nintendo Switch Online, or playing specific games.

If you want to see more from GAMINGbible, make us a preferred source on Google.

For this batch specifically, you’ll need 205 points altogether to redeem every item available. That shouldn’t take you too long, if you decide to take on a few of the available missions.

In our review of Mario Tennis Fever, our Kate called it a “sports entry that delivers enough variety to be of appeal to all fans of the famed plumber, no matter their genre of preference".

“With its surprisingly charming Adventure Mode and more match variations than you could possibly imagine, Mario Tennis Fever is a bountifully delightful release that conjures up the pure, whimsical escapism that only Nintendo so wonderfully nails.”

Mario Tennis Fever is out now for Nintendo Switch 2.
