Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is due a remaster, or remake, with leaks seemingly confirming its existence.
While nothing has been officially confirmed just yet, the evidence continues to build and now it seems like the game’s release date has been narrowed down significantly.
An art book has appeared on Amazon titled Assassins Creed Black Flag Remaster, published by Titan Books which has had a long-standing partnership with Ubisoft over the years.
Together, the two companies have released a variety of books for several Assassin’s Creed games. From concept art to guides and many more varieties, they’ve been the place to go for fans wanting to expand their knowledge of the series.

With the existence of Assassins Creed Black Flag Remaster now out in the wild, it pretty much confirms a re-release of the game is on the way, and it might have even told us when.
The book’s release date is 24 March and in the past, art books have been released either alongside or a few days after the game they're tied to has come out.
Get Ready For March, Assassin's Creed Fans
If that’s the case, this time around, it places the release date of the remaster somewhere in March.

If we’re lucky, we might get confirmation at tonight’s PlayStation State of Play event but if I had to guess, I’d say Ubisoft is holding the announcement back for release on its own channels first. It’d be weird to debut it during PlayStation’s showcase unless it’s a timed-exclusive, which doesn’t seem to be the case according to the leaks.
The other possible scenario is the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remaster was supposed to launch in March but has potentially been pushed back.
Ubisoft recently underwent a massive reshuffle which resulted in a few games being cancelled and you’d expect some release dates to change too.
Perhaps the book’s release date couldn’t be altered and that’s why it’s still planned for release in March, whereas the game will launch sometime later.
It wouldn’t be the worst outcome as Assassin’s Creed Black Flag has been out for years, so there’s no danger of spoilers there as everyone who’s excited to play the remaster probably played the original.
Since it’s my favourite Assassin’s Creed game, I really hope it launches soon. I’m not holding my breath for tonight’s PlayStation State of Play, but it’d be a lovely surprise.
