Fallout 5 'Delay' Roasted By Gamers Ahead Of New Reveal

Don't rush it

Fallout 5 delay fears are being roasted by gamers, who think the majority of Fallout fans are being overly dramatic.

Fallout Day is finally here, bringing with it some new announcements for Bethesda’s current post-apocalyptic RPGs.

For those living in the United Kingdom you can tune into the Fallout Day broadcast at 6pm this evening, with different times for those in different timezones.

As if to save fans from disappointment though, Bethesda has already revealed what it plans to show during the livestream, including a closer look at the next Fallout 76 expansion as well as surprising new content for Fallout 4.

Ahead of the showcase, Fallout 5 has been a hot topic as fans patiently await news on the next game in the series. Unfortunately, they’ll be waiting a while as The Elder Scrolls VI is set to launch first, but for those that don’t know Bethesda’s release schedule, it’s Fallout 76 that’s getting blamed for the fifth game taking so long.

Fans have finally had enough though, and are berating those who are expressing disappointment with Fallout Day for not giving us a trailer for a game nowhere near completion.

"Just a quick heads up about Fallout Day,” began a post by JustGhoulThingz, “Every year it’s the same thing, people yelling, ‘Stop working on Fallout 76 and make Fallout 5 already.’ So here’s a reality check.”

JustGhoulThingz continued, “Fallout 76 is made by Bethesda Austin … Fallout 5, along with The Elder Scrolls VI, is being developed by Bethesda Game Studios in Maryland … These are two separate studios with different people and completely different projects.”

What does this mean for Fallout 5?

The fan then explained how Fallout 76 has nothing to do with Fallout 5, so those fearing the live-service game is delaying the next game along with its continued existence couldn’t be more wrong.

“This needs to be said over and over and over until it gets in people's heads,” replied one commenter, with another adding, “Also, its gotta be said that F76 is definitely funding, at least partially, Fallout 5's development.”

Unfortunately, this doesn’t change the fact that Fallout 5 is definitely not releasing for a long, long time.

That said, statements like “Fallout 76 is the reason Fallout 5 is taking so long” are categorically false, so it’s nice to see there are still plenty of Fallout fans not taking it out on a team that has no control over the next game in the series.
