Fallout 76 has a brand new free expansion titled Burning Springs, and many players have called it their “favourite DLC to date”.

Burning Springs adds a brand new location to explore, along with new quests, factions, creatures, and characters to meet.

In particular, the update is also notable for featuring The Ghoul from Amazon’s Fallout TV series as an NPC offering bounty missions, voiced by Walton Goggins.

It’s a rather substantial update, and considering Goggins’ reprisal of his role from the TV show, it comes at a rather apt time for Fallout fans to check the update out. It coincides with the launch of the Blood x Rust season, which runs from this week until March.

It seems that the update has really resonated with fans as well, with many calling it one of the best expansions Fallout 76 has had in years.

“A lot of effort was put into this dlc,” writes one fan on the Fallout 76 Reddit page. “Frankly being a beta player, I'm impressed. I spent more hours exploring and doing side quests than playing the main quest. Feels like a version of og fallout in a way with all the distractions. It’s enjoyable and probably going to be my favorite dlc to date.”

“I played it a bunch on the PTS. I liked it. Quite much, in fact. The new night sky in Burning Springs is cool. I liked the variation of random enemies and the new locations. I'm looking forward to building a CAMP in the new region,” another comment reads.

“Checked out a few bounties. Almost died to a whole town of stealthed enemies on one. Abraxo collection quest seems like kind of a pain," reads another comment.

"Lots of really good CAMP locations that won't let you drop one. Most POIs are pretty well designed.

"I really like the drive in and set up a CAMP so that it is facing the screen. Overall, makes me nostalgic for New Vegas a bit."

Fallout 76's Burning Springs Expansion Comes At The Perfect Time

Fallout Season 2 is set to air on Amazon Prime Video later this month. The series will return for eight more episodes on 17 December, with the season finishing on 4 February, 2026.

This season adapts some elements of Fallout: New Vegas, setting the story around two decades after the game.

Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, Aaron Moten, and Kyle MacLachlan reprise their roles for the second season, and are joined by new cast members Justin Theroux, Macaulay Culkin, and Kumail Nanjiani.
