Fallout 2 remake announcement is a hit with fans

The fans are over the moon

The first two Fallout games are simply brilliant, however, playing them nowadays can be a little off-putting due to the aging visuals and sometimes clunky gameplay.

Having them remade or remastered would be wonderful, but as we’re all too aware, Bethesda is rushed off their feet making The Elder Scrolls VI.

Bethesda are still working on Starfield with its first official DLC expansion out later this year

Enter the creator community and one particular project which is remaking Fallout 2. Project Arroyo is remaking the game from the ground up, with all new visuals, and fans seem thrilled.

The game recently resurfaced over on Reddit and has fans abuzz, “The classics deserve this.” says one user, Ill_Resolve5842.

Another Redditor who goes by SplinterCel3000 says, “This is cool and hasn't been the first time someone has tried. If I remember right there's a f**k ton of just empty space all over since it's not designed to be fully connected or 3D. Still cool as f**k.”

Touching on how archaic the older games feel, user platinumrug said, “I am actually actively praying for this every damn day. I want to experience the old Fallout's so badly but I hate top-down perspective and even when I tried to play for a few hours I just could not get into it.”

One Redditor is excited by the idea of experiencing Fallout’s older games, “I'd love the old Fallout games with the current Fallout engine. I know it wouldn't be the same but it'd be another cool way to experience the story.”

While seeing Fallout and Fallout 2 brought to life in this way would be amazing, many fans who played the games when they were first released are still happy to play them as they were.

The original two games are available to play on modern hardware and even on handhelds with a bit of tweaking, but that doesn’t stop the idea of 3D Fallout 2 being very exciting.
