Steam Drops New Free Horror That'll Chill You To The Core

The men in the park

An iconic indie horror sequel has just been released on Steam, and it’s absolutely free.

If you’re like me and enjoy playing free horror games when you get a spare moment, scrolling the front page of Steam or itch can get you some interesting finds.

The indie dev scene is just really creative when it comes to horror games, and this sequel from Elliott Dahle will probably send chills down your spine.

Dahle’s The Man in the Park was an interesting indie horror on itch when it was released back in 2022, and it was finally added to Steam back in July. The game depicts a rather simple premise: you see an old man in your local park. Will you help him?

Obviously, there is more to it than this, but the game had a rather creepy atmosphere and was able to deliver some fun scares during its short playtime.

The appropriately named The Man in the Park 2: The Second Man in the Park is a sequel to The Man in the Park which sees you trying to escape the park again. It was released on itch a year later, but has now been released on Steam.

The game’s official description on Steam reads: “The Man in the Park 2: The Second Man in the Park is a short, multiple ending horror game where you try to make it out of your neighborhood park . . . alive . . . again.”

The Man in the Park 2 features six possible endings, which is double the amount from the first game, and new environments, scares, and other content.

It should only take you around 20 minutes to complete, so it’s not too long either. Just enough time to wolf down your Tesco meal deal and complete in one sitting.

Be sure to check out The Man in the Park and The Man in the Park 2: The Second Man in the Park on Steam.

If you ask me though, the sequel should have been called “The Men in the Park”.
